USPS 2026 holiday prices: what to check in a China–US fulfilment quote
Check the final 2026 USPS seasonal price files, the contracted postal product and the warehouse invoice before comparing China–US fulfilment costs.

As checked on October 8, USPS Postal Explorer lists its time-limited 2026 price change for October 4, 2026 to January 17, 2027. The price files and Notice 123 are marked Final, revised September 18. That current listing supersedes treating the August announcement as the only available evidence of a proposed change.
The final listing establishes the official price-file status. Your payable rate still depends on the product, pricing basis, parcel characteristics and agreement used for the shipment. Obtain the applicable file and contract record for the mailing transaction; a news headline cannot establish the amount on your fulfilment invoice.
Identify the postal product and pricing basis before comparing totals
Write down the complete product name, any relevant packaging or pricing option, the origin and destination ZIP codes, the final packed measurements and the billable weight used. Ask whether the quote refers to a published retail or commercial rate, or to the provider’s contracted arrangement. These are separate questions from who physically prepares the parcel.
For repeat shipments, retain a representative light parcel, a heavier parcel and a bulky parcel in the comparison. Apply the same final packaging and destination to both quotes. If a provider selects a different service or measurement basis, show that change as its own line rather than assuming the totals describe equivalent work.
Separate domestic postage from the rest of the China–US operation
Our suggested quote layout keeps China supplier receiving, consolidation, international transport, import-related work, US warehouse handling and domestic postage separately described. A postal seasonal change does not establish the amount of an air-freight, storage or customs-related charge. Ask the party invoicing the work to identify each charging unit and its agreed trigger.
Also check whether a displayed total already includes the seasonal postal amount. Adding it again would overstate the cost; excluding it from an older quote could understate the new transaction. The useful question is which approved rate and agreement the provider will actually apply.
| Cost item | Question to record | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic postage | Which product, price basis and mailing date apply? | Applicable price file and contracted rate reference |
| China receiving and packing | Is the unit a carton, item, order or handling task? | Approved work list and charging units |
| International movement | Which goods, route and packed measurements does the quote cover? | Dated movement quote and validity |
| US stock handling | Which receiving, storage and pick/pack activities are included? | Warehouse scope and any allowances |
| Returns and exceptions | What event creates an additional charge? | Merchant instruction, fee basis and supporting record |
Keep quote validity and transaction evidence together
Before dispatch, confirm the quote’s validity period and the event that fixes the charge. Ask how later changes in packaging, order mix, service selection or mailing date will be handled. Preserve the original assumptions and any accepted revision so a customer service message and the invoice do not rely on different versions.
For an invoice review, use the order and parcel references to locate the final product, measured parcel, mailing date and charged lines. A prepared label, a warehouse release and a carrier acceptance record may carry different dates. Ask the billing party which record controls its charge under the agreement; do not choose a date just because it appears first in the tracking history.
Test one quote change without inventing a universal percentage
A practical comparison can use one unchanged order profile at two stated mailing dates. Reprice domestic postage using the applicable records, hold genuinely unchanged warehouse work constant, and record any movement or handling changes separately. This is a method for reviewing your own quotes, not evidence that every shipment rises by the same percentage.
If a quote is expressed as one bundled amount, request a scope description that explains what is included and how seasonal changes are treated. You can still compare bundled offers, but the comparison should identify their different responsibilities, validity periods and exception charges. A cheaper headline is useful only if the required work is covered.
Prepare the information needed for a scoped review
Share the order pattern, destination ZIP codes, final parcel sizes and weights, intended product, requested dispatch dates and any US-stock or return work. Include the previous quote or invoice lines you need explained, with customer information limited to what the operating team needs.
Jeton Express can discuss the China–US transport and US partner warehouse scope against that brief. Confirm actual fees and terms with the party providing each stage. Retain the resulting agreement alongside the final postal reference so later reviews can explain both the price and the work it covered.
