Confirm the importer and broker
Name the importer of record and customs broker. Confirm importer identification, any required bond, entry process and product-specific permits for the actual goods.
Prepare accurate commercial documents
Prepare accurate descriptions, quantities, actual values, currency, origin, commodity classification, commercial invoice and packing list. Reconcile these records with the final consolidated shipment.
Agree duties, fees and release
The importer and broker confirm current duties, fees and any additional tariffs for the actual goods. Do not assume low-value parcels are automatically duty-free. Agree who pays and retain customs release separately from USPS acceptance.
