2026 holiday delivery planning: work back from USPS dates to China dispatch

Use the 2026 USPS domestic send-by dates to plan China supplier readiness, US receiving and postal handover with separate records and confirmed cutoffs.

Start with the US destination and the actual postal product

USPS’s 2026 holiday page recommends the dates below for expected delivery before December 25 in the contiguous United States. These are domestic send-by dates. A seller preparing goods in China still needs a separate plan for supplier readiness, consolidation, international transport, import handling and postal handover.

USPS says actual delivery depends on the origin, destination, acceptance time and other conditions. Use the separate official tables for Alaska, Hawaii, territories and military addresses. Confirm the purchased service and destination before using any date in a customer promise.

Build two plans when some goods are in China and some are in US stock

For a China-direct order, identify the goods ready for release in Guangzhou, the agreed departure arrangement and the US transfer that will create the domestic parcel event. A proposed flight, consolidation booking or printed USPS label does not establish physical postal receipt. The date you need is the usable handover date for the actual final parcel.

For US-stock orders, begin with inventory authorised for that channel. Confirm when the warehouse can pick and pack the order, resolve stock or address holds and arrange the selected postal handover. Goods held for inspection or a receiving difference should remain outside the releasable quantity until the agreed decision is recorded.

Work backwards through confirmed stages and working calendars

Our suggested planning sheet starts with the selected US handover target and works backwards through each preceding operation. Ask the responsible team for the expected duration, available working days, booking deadline and evidence that marks completion. Keep an allowance for unresolved checks explicit rather than presenting it as a carrier transit commitment.

Some document work can proceed while goods are being prepared; other steps depend on a physical receipt. Record those dependencies so you do not double-count parallel work or skip a necessary inspection. A date is useful only when its owner can confirm what must be ready at that point.

Replan a late supplier or incomplete batch while there is still a decision to make

Use a simple exception example: a launch needs two SKUs, but only one has passed the agreed receiving check. Decide whether to hold the complete launch, send an authorised subset or revise the customer offer. Record who approves that choice, which quantities remain held and whether labels, documents or bookings need changing.

Do not infer readiness from a supplier’s expected delivery date. Ask for the actual receipt and the check that still blocks release. If the revised plan misses the original handover target, discuss the available service and capacity with the operating team before changing the delivery message. An earlier review point gives the merchant time to choose; it does not guarantee a later recovery service.

Give support and checkout the same dated assumptions

Keep the origin handling period, international movement estimate and US postal estimate distinguishable. A support agent should be able to see the latest confirmed stage, its date and the contact checking the next stage. Match that record to the order and final parcel, especially when a batch is split or repacked.

Review customer-facing dates after a material change in stock, receiving capacity or a booked movement. Avoid applying the lower-48 recommendation to every US address. Keep the date of the official guidance check with your operational plan, and revisit it before the campaign goes live.

Bring a specific holiday brief to the dispatch discussion

Share SKU quantities, supplier readiness, packed sizes, delivery ZIP codes, the actual postal product and the customer date you want to plan towards. For Jeton Express, distinguish Guangzhou consolidation from US partner warehouse fulfilment so each operation can review its own handovers.

Ask the team to confirm the actual receiving location, available handling, planned movement and decision cutoffs. Keep open items visible until confirmed. The result should be a dated plan for your goods and destination, with a named person for each exception, rather than one universal China departure deadline.
