eBay USPS QR code not working: check the label and printing route

Check whether the eBay code belongs to an issued USPS label, confirm the participating printing location and keep any replacement linked to the order.

Identify the code before attempting another scan

When an eBay USPS label code fails, first open the label record for the affected order. Check the carrier, selected service and whether the label purchase completed. A tracking number, an order barcode and a label-printing code have different purposes; using the wrong reference can make a valid shipment look like a scanning failure.

eBay offers QR label printing for selected shipping services at participating locations. USPS Label Broker uses a provider-issued QR code or Label Broker ID to print a prepaid label. Confirm that the code being shown belongs to that workflow.

Retrieve the original code from the label record

Open the saved label or the provider’s original message, then compare its order and destination with the parcel. Show the complete code at a readable size. Check for an old screenshot from a cancelled label or a different package in the same order.

If a provider message is missing, check the relevant inbox and ask the label provider to resend the code or supply its Label Broker ID. Keep that printing reference separate from the carrier tracking number in the dispatch record.

  • Confirm the order and the parcel being presented.
  • Check the recorded carrier and issued label status.
  • Use the current label record rather than a forwarded, cropped image.
  • Record the printing error and location for the label provider.

Confirm where that label can be printed

Use the provider’s instructions and the USPS participating-location information for the selected printing route. Ask the location whether it supports that label before treating a failed scan as an invalid parcel. A nearby carrier counter may not offer the same printing workflow.

Bring the packed parcel for the USPS retail Label Broker workflow: USPS says the printed label is affixed at the retail window. Plan the visit around the actual location and its hours. Keep any subsequent handover evidence with the parcel reference.

Choose the next action from the failed step

Separate a missing code, a reading problem and an unissued or cancelled label. Send the seller or label provider the specific failure, together with the order and label references. Ask for the current label’s permitted recovery route before purchasing another label.

Record a replacement without losing the first label

If the seller authorises a replacement, record why it was needed and which label will be attached to the parcel. Keep the previous label status in the order history and check that the saved carrier reference matches the dispatched parcel. Do not infer that a failed scan automatically cancelled the earlier purchase.

For a warehouse handoff, send an approved label file and a clear parcel reference through the agreed process. Jeton’s site does not buy eBay postage or generate a provider’s QR code. Label creation and recovery remain with the seller’s authorised workflow.
