Batteries, perfume and liquids: check every China–US transport stage
Disclose the actual batteries, liquids or perfume and obtain acceptance for each China–US transport stage before sending stock for dispatch.

Give the shipment owner the actual product, material or chemistry, quantity, condition and proposed packaging. A description such as “electronics” or “beauty item” can omit the information needed to review transport restrictions. Identify batteries inside equipment, loose batteries and liquids explicitly.
USPS separates prohibited and restricted materials and directs mailers to product-specific instructions. Its domestic mailability guidance cannot by itself approve international air carriage or US import requirements. Review each stage with the party responsible for accepting the goods.
Prepare a product-specific acceptance packet
Supply the documents requested by the carrier, forwarder and importer, such as product specifications, battery information or safety documentation. Keep the requested test or handling records associated with the actual SKU and packaging version.
| Check | Record or next action |
|---|---|
| Product | Contents, battery chemistry or liquid description and condition. |
| Quantity | Units per package and relevant capacity or amount information. |
| Packaging | Proposed containment, protection and handling method. |
| Route | Origin transport, international leg, import and final domestic service. |
Apply the current rule for the particular contents
USPS domestic guidance requires ground transport for pre-owned, damaged or defective electronic devices containing or packaged with lithium batteries. Its hazardous-material guidance also limits ethanol-based perfume to domestic surface transport unless the specified prior written authorisation applies.
These statements are reasons to seek the correct product and route review, not approval for a particular shipment. Check the detailed current instructions, packaging, marking and destination conditions before the account holder purchases the final service.
Record approval before warehouse release
Keep each accepting party’s instruction, the goods it covers and any conditions in the dispatch brief. If contents, quantity, condition or packing changes, ask whether the earlier acceptance still applies. Hold unresolved units apart from stock approved for release.
For a Jeton receiving enquiry, disclose the contents before arranging supplier delivery. Agree the handling scope and exception owner. A domestic ground option does not resolve an international-stage restriction, and a warehouse receiving record does not replace carrier acceptance.
