USPS says delivered, but the customer cannot find the parcel
Compare the USPS delivery event with the order address, check likely receiving locations and prepare a specific local delivery inquiry if the parcel remains missing.

Record the USPS delivery date, time and location description. Compare the number with the active label and the buyer’s order. Check whether the event belongs to the original parcel, a replacement or a return before investigating the address.
USPS recommends checking household members and likely safe delivery locations when a delivered parcel cannot be found. Review the current official instructions for that delivered event, including when the local inquiry route becomes available.
Check the receiving arrangement at the address
Ask the recipient to check the usual parcel location, household or authorised receiving contacts and any building reception or mailroom. Match the apartment, unit and ZIP code in the seller’s dispatch record. Keep the buyer’s report separate from assumptions about where the carrier left the parcel.
If a commercial receiving address was used, identify the team responsible for incoming parcels and ask for its dated receipt record. Do not infer that a warehouse, locker or reception team received the item simply because it appears in an address field.
Prepare a precise local delivery inquiry
Give the responsible carrier contact the tracking number, delivery-event details, relevant address information and the checks already completed. State the discrepancy: the record says delivered but the intended recipient has not located the parcel.
- Keep the seller’s label and order address available for comparison.
- Record the recipient’s checks and when they were made.
- Save the inquiry reference and the carrier’s actual response.
- Handle a suspected wrong-number issue through the seller before reusing the event.
Keep the sales resolution separate from the carrier investigation
The seller should follow any active marketplace or store case while checking the delivery record. A replacement, refund or insurance claim needs its own authorised decision and evidence. A delivered scan does not by itself explain the buyer’s report.
For Jeton-arranged shipments, share the order and final carrier reference with the responsible team. Keep any replacement parcel linked to the original sale, with its own tracking history, so the buyer can follow the correct movement.
