USPS pickup did not happen: reconcile the booking before rescheduling
Check the pickup request, prepared parcels and collection notice before booking another USPS pickup or promising a new dispatch date.

Find the actual pickup confirmation and identify the collecting party. A USPS pickup request and a consolidator’s collection booking may concern different handovers. Record the scheduled address, date, package location and the parcels included before asking why the collection did not happen.
USPS distinguishes its regular Package Pickup from paid Pickup on Demand. Check the service booked and its current instructions; do not assume a regular pickup has a reserved appointment window.
Reconcile the booking with the parcels left for collection
Compare the requested parcel count with the packages physically ready at the stated location. Note any parcel held for an address correction, unfinished packing or a replacement label. Check whether the carrier could safely reach the collection point.
| Check | Record or next action |
|---|---|
| Request | Confirmation reference, scheduled date and collection address. |
| Ready parcels | Active tracking numbers and the packages present at the pickup point. |
| Access | Instructions and any observed access problem. |
| Result | Pickup confirmation or notice explaining a failed collection. |
Ask about the failed collection before arranging the next one
USPS directs customers with a missed requested pickup to the local Post Office and its service-request route. Give the booking reference and the observed result. For a partner collection, use the contact and escalation process in that booking instead.
Before rescheduling, recount the parcels and confirm which remain under the warehouse’s control. Amend the release instructions so a later team does not send the same parcel through two collection plans. Keep any changed booking linked to the original request.
Report the actual dispatch outcome to the seller
State which parcels were collected, which remained and the next agreed action. Preserve the collection notice alongside later parcel-level tracking events. A label generated on the scheduled day cannot establish that pickup occurred.
If the failed collection affects a customer commitment, the seller should review the promised dispatch information and explain the confirmed delay. For Jeton-arranged handling, share the warehouse release reference so the responsible team can reconcile its collection record.
